About the programme
Ja-Kyung Oh studied organ in Seoul and in Ann Arbor, USA. She was appointed Professor at the Korea National University of Arts (KNUA) in 2000. Her outstanding achievements include overseeing the building of an historic organ by GOArt of Sweden in 2006. In 2009 she became director of the Early Music Institute at the Korea National University of Arts, and in 2021 founded the Early Music Department at her university. She spent a semester at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music as a senior Fulbright Scholar. She has performed worldwide, playing on numerous historic instruments throughout Europe and is a jury member of many organ competitions. In 2020 she was President of the Jury at the first International Organ Competition in Korea, supported by the Lotte Foundation for Arts.
