About the programme
Maurice Clerc studied in Paris with Suzanne Chaisemartin and Rolande Falcinelli and continued his studies with Gaston Litaize. He has given over 1,300 concerts in more than 20 countries, including performances in Notre-Dame, Paris and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York. In 1987 he gave two concerts in Taipei for the dedication of the grand Flentrop organ, played in Australia and New Zealand in 2019, and performed in Japan and Hong Kong in 2020. He is regarded as a specialist in French music of the 19th and 20th centuries. He was titular organist at Dijon Cathedral for over 46 years, and taught at the Conservatoire and University there. Maurice Clerc is a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
