“Dear God, there it is, now this poor little Mass is ended. Is what I’ve just composed sacred music, or is it ‘Sacrée musique’? I was born for opera buffa, as you well know! A little science and a little of the heart, that’s all there is to it. Be blessed and grant me paradise.” The “Petite Messe solennelle” is far from small, but is in fact a great sacred work by the former opera composer Rossini. The young conductor Hannes von Bargen conducts the summer concert by the Bachchor Stuttgart.
